After more than a year out of racing, Calum Lockie will return to racing this weekend at Brands Hatch (3/4 May) at the start of a fabulous spell that will include racing a Group C car at Spa-Francorchamps and competing in the Nurburgring 24-Hours in a 680bhp BMW M3.

Lockie was sidelined for most of the 2007 season after breaking his ankle in a workshop accident, but is now fully fit once more and eager to get back racing again.

"It's great to be going racing; my last race was in March 2007 and that's a long time ago," said Lockie. "I can't wait to get racing again and I'm really focussed on enjoying my racing this year. I want to do some of the things I've always wanted to do, like racing a Group C car and going back to the Nurburgring."

Having recently won an endurance kart race to underline his return to full fitness, Lockie is also hopeful of rejoining the British GT Championship in the near future.

But his first race outings will be at Brands Hatch in this weekend's Britcar races supporting the A1GP feature event on the mighty Grand Prix circuit at Kent track. Calum has accepted an invitation from George McIntosh to share a 997-model 911GT3 Cup car in the pair of races.

"It should be a lot of fun, and I'm very grateful to George. He rang me up recently and asked me to share the car and it will be my first race in a 997. We've got qualifying on Saturday and races on both Saturday and Sunday," said Calum. "It'll be a great crowd and good to watch the A1 GP races as well."
