MGCC Trophy - Silverstone

Jack Goff, the new racing talent, took apart the field at Silverstone this weekend.

Goff, just 18 and racing in the MG Trophy Series, finished 4th after having to start from the back of the grid. With mixed weather conditions Goff had overtaken 22 cars in 5 laps to take up 4th place and go on to set the fastest lap in his MG ZR 190.

Jack GoffMechanical trouble earlier in the weekend prevented Goff from qualifying but this was not going to set the young talent back. Goff finished just seconds behind the current championship leader Chris Bray who conceded the race win to Paul Luti giving him his first win of the year.

Talking after the race Jack said,“ It was a real achievement for the team this weekend and to get the fastest lap of the race by some half a second whilst moving through the traffic to secure 4th place was a real boost.”

Jack added “Looking to the future we are now concentrating on testing and securing the necessary budget to compete in the highly contested Renault Clio Cup championship in 2010. This receives great media coverage as it is part of the British Touring Car package; the Clio’s also receive live TV coverage, which is a great benefit for the team and the sponsors.”
