This weekend, Jacques Villeneuve returns to Road America, with Braun Racing, for NASCAR Nationwide Series event – the Bucyrus 200 presented by Menards. Villeneuve holds an impressive record around the 4.048-mile road course, where he won the CART IndyCar Series events there in both 1994 and 1995.

Villeneuve will drive the #32 Dollar General Toyota as the Nationwide Series makes its inaugural visit to the Road America facility, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Speaking about the event, Villeneuve said: “Returning to Road America is very exciting as it remains one of my favorite tracks, and I was hoping to return one day. I have great memories of the circuit as I won both times I raced there in IndyCars - in fact, Road America in ‘94 was actually my first win in the series.”

The Canadian driver will be looking to exploit his knowledge of the track, “I’m not too worried about joining the NASCAR Nationwide Series halfway through the season,” Villeneuve commented, “as it is the first road course this year and the first time ever for NASCAR to be racing at Elkhart Lake. A lot of the drivers will still be learning the track.

“We’ll be looking for a strong result this weekend – hopefully a top three finish if we avoid any issues.”

The Bucyrus 200 is scheduled for 3pm (CDT) on Saturday June 19, 2010.
