BEN, the Automotive Industry Charity, was delighted to support Scott Jenkins this weekend in the final round of the Formula Renault UK Championship which took place at Brands Hatch.    BEN’s logo featured prominently on the racing car creating visual awareness for the charity at an event which was expected to reach 40,000 people in attendance with around 1 million TV viewers watching  live across 24 countries.

Overall, Scott came 9th in the 2008 Championship, an amazing result given that he has only just reached 17 years of age and is competing for the first time against drivers in their 20s.  Nine out of the ten Formula Renault Championship races support the British Touring Car Championship.  Three of its recent winners are successful F1 GP drivers, including Lewis Hamilton!

The ultimate plan for Scott is to reach Formula One, however neither Scott nor his support team are under any illusions about how difficult this will be.  But, given that Scott has won several championships in 2007 including the British Open Champion in both ICA and Formula A, Snap on Stars of Karting National Champion ICA, Race of Americas winner; Stars of Karting East Division Champion and Vice Champion in the World Cup Finals, it is quite likely that his racing future looks bright!

BEN and Scott are looking at ways to work together during 2009.
