CITROËN ON TOP AFTER LOEB AND ELENA TAKE VICTORY IN JORDAN

The Citroën Total World Rally Team has taken the lead in the WRC 
Manufacturers’ Championship after a solid victory for Sébastien Loeb and 
co-driver Daniel Elena in the Jordan Rally this weekend. The duo also  increased
their margin in the drivers’ standings to 25 points. Dani  Sordo and Marc
Marti came home in fourth position pushing the Citroën  Total World Rally Team
into the lead in the Constructors’ Championship.
Loeb and Elena set three fastest times in four stages, confirming  they were
the quickest pairing in the desert as they took a 56th WRC career victory and
second win of the season.
“I’m delighted to have won such a tough rally,” commented Loeb before 
stepping up to the podium. “Our second victory in three events has  helped
open up a 25 point gap, the equivalent of a victory, over the  second-placed
driver. We can now tackle the next rally in a reasonably  relaxed frame of
mind.”
Frédéric Banzet, Citroën’s general manager, was at the event to cheer  on
his crews and was delighted with the performance of the C4 WRC. “Our  cars had
to cope with particularly difficult road conditions in hot  weather, and they
again showed bullet-proof reliability. Our crews  combined speed and
intelligence to give Citroën a status enhancing  result.”
Citroën and Loeb will be hoping for another successful weekend as  they head
to the Rally of Turkey from 16-18 April.
