ARROW AIMS NEW PRODUCTS AT AUTOSPORT ENGINEERING
Autosport Engineering has always been the place to see the latest components specifically designed for the performance and motorsport industries; this January's show will be no exception. Arrow Precision, a regular participant at the NEC-based exhibition, is in the process of adding new products to its range.
Of particular interest to enthusiasts will be two new parts for the Mitsubishi Evo X. The team at the Leicestershire-based company is currently producing a crankshaft for this potent car, as well as connecting rods. Both should be available in the near future and displayed on the company's stand at Autosport Engineering.
The Evo X is receiving further attention from the company in its capacity as a distributor for fellow Autosport Engineering exhibitor ARP Automotive Racing Products and has already delivered a head stud kit for the car.
Two other new products have recently become available from Arrow, the latest being connecting rods for the Volkswagen Golf 2.0-litre TFSI engine.
For the legendary MGB, the company has also introduced an 88.9mm (3.5-inch) stroke crankshaft. This has been designed with eight counterweights, to reduce the inertia loads on the main bearings, while still being a direct replacement for the original crankshaft.
In recent times, Arrow Precision, which manufactures products for customers across the board - including Formula One, Le Mans Series teams, club racers and track day events - has been making small, but significant improvements to the design and manufacturing process of its steel crankshafts. One of the most important of these has been the introduction of fully-automated peening. The company points out the importance of hardening the surface to an exacting standard, removing stress raisers and attaining an even surface hardness right across the rod.
"Arrow Precision has exhibited at Autosport Engineering since the beginning and we simply wouldn't miss it," said Sales Director Ros Arnold.
"We always generate new business there in many different sectors of motorsport. Just as importantly, we are able to meet many of our existing customers from all over the world."
"The engine component suppliers form an important part of the Autosport Engineering mix," says Show Director Ian France.
"Companies like Arrow Precision return year after year for the exhibition, which is undoubtedly the most important place in Europe for them to display new products."
Autosport Engineering is always a popular show for engine component manufacturers like Arrow Precision and ARP. Others in this sector who are also exhibiting at the 2010 show include Aurora Bearing Company, Burton Power, Ferrea Racing Components, HB Bearings, Jacquemin Tuning, Kent Cams, Newman Cams and Piper Cams.
