Halliday and Ortelli on the podium
GT3 France: David Halliday and Stéphane Ortelli took podium positions in both French GT Championship races in an Audi R8 LMS (Audi Team Oreca) at Val de Vienne, France. David Halliday, who started from pole position for the first race, relinquished his lead early, but was able to defend second place along with Ortelli to the checkered flag in the high summer temperatures. In the second race Halliday/Ortelli finished third. Their Oreca team mates Soheil Ayari and Bruno Hernandez were fifth in both races. In Sunday’s race the Audi drivers Stéphane Lemeret and Greg Franchi (WRT), who retired after an accident from the first race, moved up to fourth place.
Brinkmann Motorsport score twice
GT Open: Brinkmann Motorsport started the fourth International GT Open race of the season at Spa-Francorchamps as sole Audi team. Around the famous Belgian race track the Dutch drivers Siebrand Dijkstra and Arjan van der Zwann took seventh place in both races in the Audi R8 LMS and, in doing so, scored points twice. Phoenix Racing did not start at the track in the Ardennes following the accident at Imola.
