A few places are still available for the Newcomers' Rally School being run by the Historic Rally Car Register near Maidstone in Kent on Saturday 31 March.

The highly regarded day is aimed at anyone new to historic road rallying and provides an essential guide to the sport. This is the first time a school has been run in the South East.

The school includes a full programme of informative talks, for both drivers and navigators, on all aspects of historic road rallying. Tuition is by experienced and successful competitors and subjects to be covered will include entering events, car eligibility and preparation, maps and navigation equipment, route instructions and regularity section timing.

Attendees can put what they learn into practice on an afternoon road run, which is designed as a typical regularity section. Any individuals attending will be suitably teamed up for the trial run.

The cost of the day is just £25 per person, which includes all course materials, lunch and refreshments. The day starts at 9am and is usually finished by 5.30pm.

For anyone looking to try an occasional single day historic rally, or planning to enter a major long distance event, the HRCR Newcomers' Rally School will be invaluable.
