"KERNOW COAST TO COAST"
14-16 March 2008

Only a handful of places remain on the latest fun and fundraising event organised by the ladies of Bognor Regis Motor Club.

The response from both new and existing "Tourists" has been superb: 59 places have been reserved, with a great variety of classic cars from the 1930s through to the 1980s. There is a strong Austin Healey contingent, hardly surprising when you consider that Donald Healey was a Cornishman!

The 4-star Carlyon Bay Hotel at St Austell is our base for the weekend (http://www.carlyonbay.com). There will be a carvery or buffet supper on Friday evening and the full RCT Gala Dinner & Auction on Saturday night.

Already, a great selection of auction items has been pledged, including two limited-edition prints from Autosports-Gallery.com (one signed by Roy Salvadori); the infamous RCT Quilt, designed and made by Jacky Wood; an hotel break at the Carlyon Bay; two pairs of tickets for The Silverstone Classic 2008; a Miele vacuum cleaner; a giant "Me to You" bear from Carte Blanche Greetings; and a framed photo of Lewis Hamilton from EDP. Additional lots are being sought.

All venues are now finalised, with Saturday morning coffee at Cornish Cyder Farm, lunch at Tate St Ives, afternoon tea at Falmouth Maritime Museum. The route back to the hotel includes a trip on the King Harry Ferry.

On Sunday morning, the route heads north to Padstow - or should we say "PadStein"? - where Prideaux Place is hosting morning coffee. The grand finale of the weekend is a farewell lunch at Boconnoc, near Lostwithiel.

The ladies are delighted to announce that Julie & Nigel from EDP Photo News have been appointed as official tour photographers. As longstanding supporters of the event, they have photos of many previous Regis Classic Tour entrants on their website (http://www.edpphoto.com).

An additional Sunday evening coach trip has been organised (at £30 per person) to the Bodmin & Wenford Railway, for a train ride and supper to complete the fun and fundraising for the weekend. Carlyon Bay is offering discounted accommodation for those wishing to extend their stay in Cornwall on Sunday evening.

Over £193,000 has been raised for cancer charities over the past ten years.
