Jordan dominates British Rallycross Championship at Croft
Andrew Jordan was in dominant form in the eighth and final round of the
Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship at the Croft circuit in North
Yorkshire on Sunday (22 October). He won both the A final and the Super Final to
end the season in tremendous style, and clinch third in the
championship.
Jordan was racing the 550bhp four-wheel drive Ford Focus built and run by the G-Tech team of former rallycross champion Will Gollop and, after a troubled start to the day, went on to dominate the all-important finals.

In practice, Andrew hit gearbox problems in the first of three sessions
and while his rivals took to the track three times, he was sidelined as the team
worked to find the problem.
Unfortunately, in his first heat the gearbox jammed in gear off the
startline and he was forced to retire. The team quickly set to work and changed
the gearbox in time for Andrew to line up for the second heat. Despite being
very short on track time, he finished second to Pat Doran and then won the third
heat. He also set the fastest heat time, to earn pole position for the A
final.
Andrew had to battle to stay ahead of Doran at the first corner, but was
then able to drive away from his rivals to win in style. Then came the A final,
and Andrew again started from pole position. This time, he had to race hard in
the opening lap to fend off Doran and former British champion Dermot Carnegie,
but once he had shaken them off he simply drove clear to a fabulous
win.
"That's a fantastic end to the British Rallycross Championship season,"
said Andrew after his second win of the season. He celebrated with some do-nuts
and then drove a victory lap in the style of Martin Schanche, standing half out
of the car and waving to the enthusiastic crowd!
"He drove two very mature races," said Andrew's father Mike. "The
conditions were very slippery, but he found all the grip that he could and just
drove away form the rest of them."
Andrew Jordan is supported by John Guest, Shell, Pirtek, Quaife Engineering and Bill Gwynne Rally School.
