John Christie - New Team Manager at Apex Motorsport

John Christie has joined Apex Motorsport as Operations Director of the Jaguar XKR team currently competing in the FIA GT3 European Championships. 

With over 25 years in competitive motor racing, including management of the Nissan USA Lola for the Le Mans 24 Hrs in 1990 , John brings to the Apex team a wealth of experience, as well as a tremendous enthusiasm for the Jaguar XKR project.

John spent many years in California with Nissan Racing, achieving considerable success with the development and racing of their GTP Team.  He then went on to manufacture World Sports Cars for the IMSA Championship, as well as restoration of historic models. 

130109am_183124139.jpgReturning to the UK, John managed the Embassy Racing Team for British GTs, as well as cars running in the Porsche Cup.

Having just returned from his first race with the V8 Supercharged Jaguar XKR at the Dubai Autodrome, John commented; “Having witnessed the on track performance of the Apex Jaguars, I’m keen to make some changes that will develop and enhance the car’s capabilities.  I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with the guys here at Apex, and am confident that together we can realise the XKR’s potential successfully.”

The 2009 FIA GT3 European Championship commences at Silverstone on 2nd and 3rd May.
