Triple FIA World Touring Car Champion racing driver Andy Priaulx was in London today to unveil of a set of stamps commemorating his title hat trick. Guernsey Post is issuing the special miniature sheet focussing on Andy’s three world titles with Andy being the only driver to take the three consecutive World Touring Car crowns. This is the second set in Andy’s honour following an issue celebrating his first world championship title.

Sally Diamond Ferbrache, Head of the Guernsey Philatelic Bureau said; ‘Given what Andy has sustained for the past three years, we are delighted to able to celebrate our hero’s fantastic achievements.’

Hugh Jefferies, internationally renowned as one the most highly regarded and authoritative figures in the stamp world, was on hand to see the unveiling at the world famous stamp shop Stanley Gibbons on The Strand.

Andy’s comment was: “I wasn’t sure when Guernsey Post asked about issuing a miniature set – I thought they were referring to my height but seriously it’s a huge honour to have a second set of stamps issued. I’m very lucky to have received motorsport accolades through my career but to have my achievements commemorated in such a public way with the Queen’s approval is truly amazing.”

The stamps will be issued on 18 January 2008 along with a special First Day Cover and presentation folder and can be purchased directly from Guernsey Post through its website www.guernseystamps.com
